The optical sorting equipment TOMRA 3A uses near-infrared radiation multispectral sensors allowing the observation of each potato in movement and easily identifying the potatoes an the foreign objects. The colour sensors make it possible to detect green potatoes. Put at the end of the conveyor belt, ejecting fingers remove these foreign objects and the green potatoes.
The pulsed LED multispectral technology, the high technology cameras and the TOMRA 3A analysis software guarantees the removal of rocks, clods, stones and various foreign objects.
The product is uniformly spread on the conveyor belt and swept by a panoramic colour near-infrared radiation camera located in the inspection zone. A few milliseconds later, the foreign objects are removed by smart ejectros located at the end of the conveyor belt, whereas the good product moves towards to the exit conveyor.
